Advanced Truck Slide Platform at the Newly Renovated Theater aan de Parade
Den Bosch, Netherlands – Van Halteren Technologies, in collaboration with Solidd Steel Structures B.V., Bemo Rail B.V., proudly announces the completion of a truck slide platform at the newly renovated Theater aan de Parade in 's-Hertogenbosch. The truck slide platform is specifically designed to alleviate the impact of loading and unloading operations in the area surrounding the Theater aan de Parade. Located close to the historic Sint-Jans cathedral and nestled among quaint, winding streets, the theater required a solution that minimized disruption. The platform accommodates up to two trucks and transitions them from the exterior to the interior of the theater within minutes, hiding them from public view once the doors are closed.
Technical Specifications
Measuring 17.2 meters by 7 meters with a floorheight of 0.22 meters, weighing 23 tonnes. It moves on rails, guided by fifteen wheels, four of which are powered by frequency-regulated electric motors. This setup ensures that the platform operates quietly and with high precision, even under the constraint of limited space and power availability. DEMAG supplied the critical drive components, including the wheels, gearboxes, and motors, ensuring the platform’s smooth and reliable operation. Bemo Rail B.V. is specialized in the design and manufacturing of custom-made rail solutions. The platform is operated by by trained theater staff. It is programmed to move large masses—up to 80 tonnes—smoothly and almost silently at speeds of up to 12 meters per minute. The entire process of concealing the trucks is completed swiftly, ensuring minimal intrusion into the urban environment.
Dual Use for Cultural Events
Beyond its logistical function, the platform can also serve as a stage for summer outdoor concerts, offering space for bands and other cultural groups.
