Last week, Gerard Oskam and Ronald IJntema from Van Halteren Technologies (VHT) visited the MADEX 2025 exhibition in Busan, South-Korea.
VHT has a long track record in South-Korea, with deliveries of amongst other hydraulic cylinders for the Saemangeum Seawall, advanced 8-DoF Motion Systems to INNOSIMULATION (이노시뮬레이션) and Replenishment at Sea systems to Hyundai for the Royal Navy MARS tankers.
South-Korea invests in many technology sectors, local industries expand rapidly, and innovation is high on the agenda.
Hosted by Netherlands Industries for Defence & Security (NIDV – Nederlandse Industrie voor Defensie en Veiligheid), linking Dutch companies, knowledge institutions and the Dutch government for the defence and security market with foreign regions (such as South-Korea), Ronald IJntema signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Van Halteren Technologies and the 창원대학교(Changwon National University) with the purpose to establish a framework for cooperation between both parties. This visit was also supported by the presence of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Korea. With this MoU, VHT confirms future commitment to continue support to South-Korea with know-how, engineering and production capacity.
