Helicopter Transfer Systems for Naval Applications
We developed and built several helicopter transfer systems which provide a winch-and-cable based solution as well as a rail-based design for wide range of helicopters, manned and un-manned. The helicopter handling system is designed to ensure a helicopter’s safe transportation into the hangar after landing and back. Both the solutions are suitable for a single as well as a dual hangar ship lay-out.

Key Features of Our Helicopter Transfer Systems
The design of the Helicopter Transfer System – Rail (HTS-Rail) is based on a connected towing- and steering beams that travels on a double rail with rails flush integrated into the ship’s deck structure. The HTS-Rail was designed as a system to handle large and relatively heavy helicopters that need extra stability. No electronic control loops and on-board or external power are used in the design, thus minimizing the number of sources for malfunctioning. The process of connecting the gripper to the helicopter strong point can be done either manually or using a simple (power) hand tool.
The Helicopter Transfer System – Winch (HTS-Winch) consists of a 3 or 4 winch concept with wire-ropes running via sheaves to strong points of the helicopter. The design of this winch-and-cable system is very cost-effective and can be used for all types of helicopters. For most installations, the system will require only minor modifications to the ship.
